Latinas Manitoba is a nonprofit organization founded in 2020 and officially registered in 2021. Our mission is to empower the Latino community in Manitoba, with a special focus on women and families. Through programs, workshops, and events, we promote well-being, education, and social integration.
Latinas Manitoba Inc Winner in non-profit Winnipeg category - Canadian Choice Awards 2025
Latinas Manitoba raises awareness about domestic violence through education, workshops, campains and resources. We empower individuals to recognize the signs of abuse, understand their rights, and seek help. Our services also include interpretation support to ensure that language barriers do not prevent survivors from accessing the help they need. We provide safe spaces, legal assistance, and counseling services, working to prevent and address domestic violence in the community.
Latinas Closet is an initiative by Latinas Manitoba that provides gently used clothing to individuals in need.
English classes - Our goal is to help participants gain confidence in everyday interactions, access better job opportunities, and integrate more fully into Canadian society. Classes are welcoming, interactive, and provide a supportive environment for learning and growth.
The food drive program by Latinas Manitoba aims to support individuals and families in need within the Latino community. Through this initiative, we collect and distribute non-perishable food items to those facing food insecurity. Donations of food are gathered during events, through community partnerships, and from generous donors. The collected food is then distributed to families who need assistance, ensuring they have access to essential nourishment.
Latinas Manitoba offers TV training workshops that provide hands-on experience in all aspects of television production. Participants learn about working with cameras, hosting, production techniques, and control room. By offering this training, we aim to empower the community, providing them with the tools to pursue careers in media and become part of the growing Hispanic presence in the media landscape.
Latinas Manitoba TV is the first Spanish-speaking program in Winnipeg, Manitoba, broadcast on Rogers Tv, we also have a segment in Spanish with U Multicultural Channel. Hosted by Maria Fernanda Vallejo, the show highlights Hispanic culture, community stories, and relevant topics for Latino-American immigrants. Through these segments, we celebrate and share our traditions, experiences, and voices with a wider audience.
In 2024, Latinas Manitoba achieved a historic milestone by having the Ecuadorian flag raised for the first time in Manitoba. This momentous event celebrated Ecuadorian heritage and the contributions of the Ecuadorian community, marking a significant recognition of cultural diversity and inclusion in the province.
The Ecuadorian Association was invited to join this historic event.
Latinas Manitoba offers Tax Workshops to educate the community on navigating the Canadian tax system, filing taxes, and understanding available benefits. These workshops aim to empower participants with the knowledge to manage their finances efficiently. Additionally, we provide guidance on using Money Smart, a program designed to help individuals make informed decisions about budgeting, saving, and investing to achieve financial stability.
Mental Health Space at Latinas Manitoba provides a safe and supportive environment where Latina women can address mental health and emotional well-being. Through workshops, resources, and open discussions, we aim to reduce the stigma around mental health and offer tools to strengthen resilience, promote self-care, and improve overall quality of life.
Community Meetings by Latinas Manitoba are regular gatherings designed to expand our network and strengthen connections within the Latinx community. These meetings provide a platform for sharing resources, discussing key issues, and collaborating on initiatives that support personal and collective growth. Open to all, they encourage networking, idea exchange, and the creation of partnerships that benefit both individuals and the community as a whole.
Thanks to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Latinas Manitoba benefits every year from 100 tickets through their program, providing our community with access to live music performances. This initiative allows members to enjoy cultural experiences, fostering a deeper connection to the arts and enhancing community engagement.
Women's Circle by Latinas Manitoba is a supportive space where Latina women come together to share, connect, and empower each other through conversations, mentorship, and community-building activities.
Latinas en Movimiento is a dynamic event by Latinas Manitoba that combines physical activity and cultural expression. It features a variety of wellness activities, including yoga, Zumba, and Tahitiandance, aimed at promoting health, fitness, and community engagement among Latina women. The event fosters a sense of empowerment, connection, and well-being.

We welcome food donations for our community hampers. You can drop off non-perishable food items at our office or during events. Contact us for specific needs or if you’d like to make a larger donation.
Financial Donations:
